To conduct the assessment, the withstanding voltage and the leakage current flow through the test specimen are measured by applying a specific voltage to it at a specific frequency for a specified time.
PRINCIPLE: The GT-7058-EN is specifically designed to determine the electrical strength of various insulating shoes. To conduct the assessment, a specific voltage at an industrial level is applied between the inner electrode and outer electrode of the test specimen at a specific frequency for a specified time. The leakage current (mA) and the withstanding voltage kV) are then determined using an amp meter and a voltmeter.
